Stolen credit card used three times before being cancelled (update)

UPDATE: In less than 30 minutes after releasing the information, police say they have identified a suspect.

The Barrie Police Service is appealing to the public for assistance after a theft and fraudulent use of a credit card was reported in the City of Barrie.

On Sunday, Nov. 17, 2019 shortly after 10:40 p.m., police responded to a residence located on Cheltenham Road after the victim realized that a her wallet had been stolen from an unlocked car in the driveway.  

A credit card that was in the wallet was then used in three separate transactions a short distance away at the Circle K located at 477 Grove St. E., before it was cancelled 

The fraudulent purchases were all captured on surveillance video and the value of the items obtained was just over $144.

The suspect is described as female white, 35 years old, medium build, long blonde hair, black boots, grey sweatpants, black winter jacket with fur on the hood and a white purse.

Police are aware of this person as a number of reports have been received in the east end of the city where she has been seen checking for unlocked vehicles while parked in their driveway.
