South Simcoe police officers suffer minor injuries executing arrest warrant

Police say accused resisted arrest outside residence in the area of Jans Boulevard and Leslie Drive

On Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, at approximately 9 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers attended an address in the Jans Boulevard and Leslie Drive area of Innisfil to arrest a man on an outstanding warrant.

Officers located the man outside of his residence attempting to leave the area. He [allegedly] resisted being arrested, but was eventually taken into custody. During the incident, two officers suffered minor injuries.

As a result of the investigation, 34-year-old Peter Paiha of Innisfil was charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired - Excess Blood Alcohol
  • Utter Forged Document
  • Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest

He was released with a future court date.
