Six-month investigation leads to child porn charges for local man

The 24-year-old was arrested 'concerning the distribution of child pornography images through a popular social media platform,' say Barrie police

On Thursday, March 17, 2022, the Barrie Police Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit arrested a 24-year-old male after a six-month investigation concerning the distribution of child pornography images through a popular social media platform. 
 
A search warrant was executed in January 2022 at the residence of the accused and several computer devices were seized for further forensic analysis. The analysis revealed specific evidence and the male was charged with Accessing Child Pornography. He was held for a bail hearing and later released on a Recognizance with specific conditions related to the offence.
