Severn Township man arrested, charged in Coldwater robbery

SEVERN TWP. - The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested a male in relation to a robbery at a bank in the Village of Coldwater within the Township of Severn.

On Sept. 17, 2019 before 2 p.m. a male entered the bank stated it was a robbery requesting cash from the teller. The bank teller complied with the direction of the suspect who then left the bank with the money.

Police were called and a description of the male was given to police; the male was known to the employees. 

Shortly after the incident police arrested and charged 59-year-old Kenneth Macleod of Severn Township, with Robbery contrary to Section 344(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia on Nov. 5, 2019.
