On Dec. 9, 2017 a 25-year-old Tay Township female attended a store in downtown Midland. The suspect selected clothing from the store, a winter jacket and went into a change room.
The suspect (allegedly) concealed some of the selected clothing under her existing clothing and removed the tags from the winter jacket. She continued to shop in the store and eventually left with the jacket and clothing making no attempt to pay for the merchandise.
The theft was captured on security video and the picture of the suspect was posted on the Midland Police Facebook page. Police received information on the identity of the suspect.
Charged is Laura Brasseur, 25 years old of Tay Township, Ont.
She was charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime. She is scheduled to appear in the Midland Court of Justice on Jan. 25, 2018 at 9:30 a.m.
