Report of shots fired leads to firearm charges for Midland man

A long gun was seized; 36-year-old man faces two weapons-related offences

GEORGIAN BAY TOWNSHIP - Members of the Marine Unit attached to the Southern Georgian Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of shots being fired in the area of Roberts Island at 2:36 p.m. July 18, 2019.

An OPP marine officer and a Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) Conservation officer who were on a joint patrol attended and investigated the complaint.

The exact residence was located and persons at the cottage were spoken to in regards to the complaint resulting in Frank Krajcr, 36 years, of Midland being charged with:

  • Careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
  • Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition

Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada, along with the seizure of a long gun.

The accused was released from police custody on a recognizance to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on September 12, 2019.
