Police warn of counterfeit money in Orillia

The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have been made aware of counterfeit currency in the City of Orillia.

On Feb. 6, 2018 the Community Street Crime Unit received a call regarding counterfeit currency in Orillia. The CSCU discovered counterfeit 100 and 20 Unites States dollars in Orillia. 

The Orillia OPP and Orillia CSCU would like to remind local businesses and citizens alike to be cautious when accepting USD or large bills in Canadian currency. Please take the steps to protect your interests by not accepting certain bills or dealing with financial institutions for currency exchange.
