Police seek witnesses to fatal pedestrian collision

On Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, at approximately 1:30 p.m. police responded to the area of Nicole Marie Avenue and Margaret Drive for a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle that had been backing out of a driveway on Margaret Drive.

When police arrived they located a 92-year-old woman suffering from serious injuries. She was transported to hospital and later succumbed to her injuries.  The driver of the vehicle, an 18-year-old woman from Barrie was not physically injured.

The investigation is ongoing. Any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police are being asked to please come forward.
