ORILLIA - On Monday, June 26, 2017, the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an assault at a residence on Front Street South in the City of Orillia.

At approximately 7 p.m., police were dispatched to reports of an injured woman on Front Street South in the City of Orillia. When police arrived on the scene, a woman who had been assaulted was located. The woman was brought to an Orillia area hospital by Simcoe County Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

The Orillia OPP Crime Unit was called in to assist in the investigation. The OPP is appealing to the public for any witnesses to the assault or anyone who may have information that can assist the police in this investigation. The event is believed to have happened in the area of Colborne Street and Front Street, shortly before 7 p.m., in the City of Orillia.
