Police seek convenience store robbery suspect

Lone male suspect is described as being 6'0 tall, late 20s or early 30s, slim build

ESSA TOWNSHIP - The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), are hoping to identify the suspect involved in the robbery at a local convenience store late Saturday night.

Members of the Nottawasaga OPP Detachment were notified of a robbery that had occurred at a local convenience store in Thornton at approximately 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2017. During the investigation, it was determined that the suspect entered the local business armed with a knife, approached the counter and demanded cash. The suspect was denied any cash from the register and within a few short moments, the suspect turned and quickly fled the scene on foot.

The lone male suspect is described as being 6'0 tall, late 20s or early 30s, slim build, wearing plain white shoes, light coloured blue jeans, a black, heavy jacket with black hood, a black toque and a grey knitted neck warmer used to cover his face. No other identifying information has been determined at this point. 

The investigation continues by the Nottawasaga Detachment Crime Unit and they are requesting assistance from the public to identify the suspect.
