Police seek assistance after senior robbed at Innisfil casino

Victim was counting cash for cab ride when police say man snatched money from his hand

The South Simcoe Police Service is seeking the public’s help to identify a suspect following a theft from a senior at the casino in Innisfil.

The recent theft involved an 82-year-old man who was preparing to leave Gateway Casinos Innisfil on 5th Sideroad and was counting cash for a cab ride home.

He was holding his cab money in his right hand and the rest of his money in his left hand when a suspect came from behind and took the money from his left hand. The victim was unable to follow the suspect as he uses a mobility device to help him walk.

Police are releasing security camera images in an effort to identify the suspect. Anyone who recognizes the man or has any information that can assist the investigation is asked to contact Const. Krystal MacLeod at 705-436-2141, ext. 1421, [email protected], or Crime Stoppers.
