Police searching for Jeep involved in pedestrian hit-and-run near Georgian Mall

Collision happened Sunday at 6:19 p.m., on Livingstone Street

Barrie police are searching for the driver of a black Jeep after a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian in the city’s north end, Sunday night.

At approximately 6:19 p.m., Feb. 13, a 26-year-old man was struck by a Jeep on Livingstone Street, east of Bayfield Street.

Barrie police communications co-ordinator Peter Leon said the man was crossing from the sidewalk of the Springwater Marketplace to the side of the Georgian Mall when he was hit.

“Thankfully, the pedestrian did not sustain any serious or life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a local hospital just to get checked out but was released,” said Leon.

Police are looking for a black Jeep with a silver grille and a partial licence plate of CBES
