Police release surveillance images linked to hate-crime investigation

Graffiti on the sides of the vehicles included homophobic slur and tires were also punctured in Bradford incident

The South Simcoe Police Service is releasing security camera images and seeking the public's help to identify suspects in a hate-related vandalism investigation in Bradford.

On Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021, police attended an address in the area of Walker Avenue and Morris Road for a report of damage to two vehicles and the front door of a residence.

Once on scene, officers observed that two vehicles in the driveway and the front door of the home had been spray-painted with graffiti. The graffiti on the sides of the vehicles included a homophobic slur and the words "Rat," "Goof" and "Woman.”

Other parts of the vehicles were damaged with spray-paint.

All eight of the tires had also been punctured.

Investigators are releasing security camera images in an effort to identify two suspects. Anyone who recognizes the suspects or has any information regarding this incident is asked to contact Det. Const. Shawn Strilec at [email protected] or Crime Stoppers.
