Police release image of unmasked suspects behind January robbery

Police believe males entered store at Duckworth Plaza Jan. 16; masked robbers then hit the store on Jan. 20

The Barrie Police Service is requesting the assistance of the public with regards to an ongoing robbery investigation.

On Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019, just after 6 p.m., two males were observed entering a variety store located in the Duckworth Plaza.

Then, on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019, at 12:26 p.m., the two males returned this time with their faces covered and made a demand for money. When the request was not complied with, the males become somewhat frustrated and quickly left the store empty-handed.

They were last seen on foot as they crossed the plaza parking lot.

Both of these visits were captured on video surveillance, however, the first visit clearly shows the faces of the suspects:

The suspects are described as:

  • Suspect #1: Male, white, 6'0 - 6'3, medium build, brown handle bar mustache, grey/black shoes, blue jeans, black coat, grey hood.
  • Suspect #2: Male, white, 5'8 - 5'11, slim build, clean shaven, black flat shoes, black Adidas pants with white stripes, blue coat, grey hood.
