Police pursuits linked to Springwater break-ins, charges laid

Female passenger was also charged with possession of methamphetamine

NEW TECUMSETH - On May 11, 2019 a silver BMW sedan was involved in multiple incidents with police, including two separate occurrences where the driver failed to stop for a peace officer. 

It was later learned that the same suspect and a female occupant of the motor vehicle were involved in two break and enters at a Springwater business on May 12, 2019. The driver of the motor vehicle was arrested and charged in relation to the police pursuits on May 23, 2019.

He has been charged with:           

  • 3 Counts of Operation while Prohibited
  • 2 Counts of Dangerous Operation
  • 2 Counts of Flight from Peace Officer
  • 2 Counts of Break, Enter a place - with intent to commit indictable offence
  • 1 Count of Possession Property Obtained by Crime - Under $5,000 
  • 1 Count of Mischief - Under $5,000

The female passenger of the motor vehicle has also been charged with two counts of break and enter and possession of a Schedule I drug (methamphetamine).

Both parties are due to appear at the Bradford courthouse this June.
