Police looking for assistance in locating stolen truck

Barrie Police are asking the public's assistance in locating a stolen pickup truck after the thief jumped in and drove off while its owner was getting a cup of coffee.

On Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018 just after 6 p.m. the victim parked his truck outside the Country Style located at 131 Tiffin Street, in the City of Barrie. While inside, a single male entered the vehicle and drove away using the keys for the vehicle. The victim did not see the theft occur however video surveillance captured an image of the male suspect. On the same date, the stolen vehicle attended the Petro Canada Gas Station located at 360 Bayfield Street, in the City of Barrie. A male matching the same description was seen filling just over $50 of fuel before driving off without paying.

Description of Stolen Vehicle:

  • Red, 2001 GMC Sierra
  • Single Cab
  • Licence Plate: AS59986
  • The truck is equipped with a black back rack with yellow dome lights attached to the box, an electric lift gate and various tools

Suspect Description:

  • Male, white
  • Medium build
  • Wearing a black baseball hat, a blue hooded sweatshirt and light coloured blue jeans
