Barrie Police swiftly arrived on scene to a reported robbery, locating the accused leaving the premise and placing him under arrest.

On Monday, June 26, 2017 at 1:35 a.m. Police were called to Esso Gas Station located at 2 Bryne Dr. in the City of Barrie after an employee called in reporting he had just been punched and robbed.

The suspect entered the store, demanding the employee's car keys and when he didn't get what he wanted, he grabbed the change from the till. He attempted to acquire the car keys again, becoming angry when denied, threatening and punching the employee. As the accused left the store with just cash in hand, officers arrived and grabbed a hold of the male, placing him under arrest.

The 25-year-old Barrie man was charged with robbery, uttering threats and three counts of fail to comply with probation. He was held for a bail hearing Monday morning. The employee suffered minor injuries that did not require medical attention.
