Pilot escapes Edenvale-area crash unscathed: OPP

Crash happened Monday afternoon in the area of Highway 26 between Strongville Road and Richardson Road

A pilot escaped without any injuries after their plane crashed into a field Monday afternoon in the Edenvale area, about 25 minutes west of Barrie. 

Emergency crews responded around 4:30 p.m. on March 4 to the area of Highway 26 between Strongville Road and Richardson Road.

Huronia West OPP say the single occupant was uninjured and the area was contained. There was a heavy police presence in the area while emergency crews were on scene. 

The crash scene is not far from the Edenvale Aerodrome. 

No further details have been released about the vintage plane that was involved or its pilot. 

More information is expected to be released Tuesday.
