Three people have been charged by Orillia OPP with impaired in the past few days.

Shortly before 1:30 a.m. Sunday, a vehicle was being driven 60 km/h over the 90 km/h speed limit on Highway 11 at Line 14 in Oro-Medonte. During a traffic stop, the driver said he had not consumed alcohol, but police determined he had, according to a news release from Orillia OPP.

Olola Gamaliel, 29, of North Bay, was charged with operation while impaired (blood-alcohol concentration 80-plus), operation while impaired (alcohol and drugs), dangerous operation, and stunt driving.

About two hours later, a vehicle was pulled over on Highway 12 in Ramara “as part of a Highway Traffic Act investigation.” Police determined the driver was impaired.

Joseph Perrault, 32, of Seagrave, was charged with operation while impaired (alcohol and drugs).

On Tuesday, shortly before 8 p.m., police responded to a report of someone driving after consuming alcohol. Officers searched the area and were soon told the individual had returned to a residence. Police attended the home, spoke to the driver, and determined he was impaired and had been operating a vehicle.

Cody Mills, 33, of Orillia, was charged with operation while impaired (blood-alcohol concentration 80-plus).

All three drivers have court dates in May in Orillia. Their licences will be suspended for 90 days and their vehicles will be impounded for seven days.
