The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating an arson which happened at a local abandoned school in the City of Orillia.

Orillia OPP were called to attend a fire at an abandoned school located on Westmount Drive. It is believed that suspects gained entrance into the building and the fire was ignited sometime in the evening of Oct. 24, 2019. There is extensive damage to the building.

The Orillia OPP, Orillia Crime Unit, OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and Ontario Fire Marshall (OFM) are investigating the fire. The Orillia OPP are seeking the assistance of the public in helping them locate and identify the parties involved.
