Orillia man faces child pornography charges

ORILLIA - On Feb. 1, 2018 members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, OPP Digital Forensics Unit, and Orillia OPP Detachment members arrested and charged a local Orillia man with offences relating to child pornography in the City of Orillia.

A pro-active online undercover investigation was commenced in December of 2017 which resulted in a search warrant being executed on Feb. 1, 2018. 

As a result of the investigation police arrested 28-year-old Benjamin William Andrew Lloyd of Orillia, and have charged him with:

  • Possession of child pornography
  • Accessing child pornography
  • Making child pornography available

The accused was held for a bail hearing where he was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia on Feb. 27, 2018.
