Aug. 18 update

As a result of the initial findings of the OFM the fire has been deemed suspicious. The Orillia OPP and Orillia Crime Unit are now conducting an Arson investigation.

If anyone saw something suspicious in the Albert Street South area on Aug. 10, 2017 between 11 p.m. and Aug. 11, 2017 12:30 a.m. or has any information that would be helpful to investigators they are encouraged to contact the Orillia OPP at 705-326-3536 or 1-888-310-1122.

ORILLIA — On Friday August 11, 2017 the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a structure fire on Albert Street South in the City of Orillia.

At approximately 12:10 a.m., OPP officers and Orillia Fire Department were dispatched to the Orillia residence which was on fire. 

As a result of this incident the Orillia OPP Crime Unit, Central Region Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and the Office of the Fire Marshal (OFM) were called in to investigate further.
