OPP seek help to nab suspicious males who tried to stop young female

The incident in Midhurst is believed to be an isolated incident, say police, who urge drivers to be vigilant and aware of surroundings

Members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a call about suspicious males attempting to stop and approach a vehicle driven by a young female on Old Second Road South and Forbes Road in Midhurst on Aug. 6. 

Around 10 p.m., the caller saw two males walking on the side of Old Second Road South. One male attempted to grab the caller's vehicle as she drove by. Once the caller stopped at the intersection on Forbes Road, another male was standing there and attempted to approach her vehicle.  

Officers attended the scene and commenced a search of the area with negative results. Police did not receive any other calls of this nature. Investigators believe this was an isolated incident and there is no immediate risk to public safety. 

All three suspects are described as male. One was wearing a grey and white plaid jacket, and another a red and black plaid jacket. No other descriptions reported due to poor lighting conditions. 

Members of the public are reminded to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings at all times. If you observe someone acting suspiciously or someone approaches you while behaving in an unusual manner, call police. 

When travelling in areas where there is no artificial lighting, ensure head lighting system is completely on and use high beams when necessary, secure the vehicle by locking doors and maintain extra caution.
