SPECIAL INVESTIGATIONS UNIT

On July 24, 2018, a pickup truck and an SUV were involved in a collision in the area of Highway 88 and 10 Sideroad, resulting in serious injuries to the pickup truck driver and three occupants from the SUV.
Just prior to the collision, a South Simcoe Police Service officer had been in pursuit of the SUV.
The Interim Director of the Special Investigations Unit, Joseph Martino, has determined there are no reasonable grounds to lay criminal charges against the officer in this case.
