New Tecumseth man charged in armed robbery at gas station

A New Tecumseth man has been charged in relation to a robbery Tuesday at an Alliston business.

Shortly before 9 p.m. on April 9, Nottawasaga OPP responded to a report of an armed robbery at a gas station in the area of Victoria and King streets.

Christopher Hives, 33, has been charged with robbery with a weapon, possession of a Schedule 1 substance, and two counts of failure to comply with a probation order.

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Hives is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
