New Lowell man charged in fatal crash from February

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges resulting from their investigation of a fatal collision.

On Feb. 20, Huronia West OPP, Springwater and Essa Fire, along with (County of Simcoe paramedics) responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 90 at George Johnston Road.

One of the involved drivers was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition and later succumbed to their injuries.

Two passengers from the vehicles were also transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Kevin Breedon, 57 years old, from New Lowell, has now been charged with one count of careless driving causing death, contrary to Section 130(3) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA), and two counts of careless driving causing bodily harm, contrary to Section 130(3) of the HTA.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie on Sept. 27.
