Motorcycle driver killed in Angus crash

Collision happened shortly before 5 p.m., on Mill Street between Tree Top Street and Summerset Place; Road closed for investigation

One person was killed following a crash in Angus, Sunday.

ESSA TWP. — Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious collision involving two motor vehicles, one of them being a motorcycle in Angus, Essa Township.

At approximately 4:55 p.m., police along with other emergency services responded to Mill Street between Tree Top Street and Summerset Place in Angus for a serious collision.

On scene, the driver who was operating the motorcycle was transported to a local hospital via ambulance with life-threatening injuries. The other vehicle driver did not sustain any injuries.

Police have since been notified that the motorcycle driver has succumbed to their injuries.

The name of the deceased is being withheld at this time pending next-of-kin notifications.

The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are currently on scene and have begun their investigation. The road is currently closed on Mill Street between Cecil Street and Commerce Road in Angus until further notice.

No charges have been laid at this time as the investigation is ongoing to determine the cause. More details to come as they become available.
