Motorcycle driver injured, charged in weekend crash on Bayfield

Barrie man, 40, charged with careless driving after colliding with vehicle near Heather Street; he was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

A motorcycle driver is cared for by emergency crews after colliding with a vehicle on Bayfield Street, Saturday evening. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries. He was also charged with careless driving.

A motorcyclist sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to local hospital after colliding with a vehicle in Barrie’s north end Saturday.

City police received the call at 6:54 p.m. on April 13 about a collision on Bayfield Street, just south of Heather Street.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 40-year-old Barrie man, was later charged with careless driving after an investigation by police.

Bayfield Street was reopened a short time later after crews cleaned up debris from the crash.
