Man pulls handgun over parking dispute in south-end Barrie

Barrie police have released these surveillance images following an incident involving a firearm Friday night on Black Cherry Crescent.

Barrie police are searching for a suspect who brandished a handgun during a parking dispute in the city's southwest end Friday night. 

Just before 11 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 20, police say the individual shown in surveillance images attended the victim’s residence on Black Cherry Crescent, near Essa Road and Mapleview Drive West, and a confrontation took place over a parking dispute. 

Police say the suspect then "displayed" a handgun to the victim before leaving in a vehicle.

The suspect is described as a male with long black braided hair that was tied back, approximately five-foot-eight to five-foot-10 and believed to be in his mid-20s. He was wearing a grey T-shirt, black pants, white high-top shoes and has what appears to be a white bandage or wrap on his right hand. 

Authorities hope someone in the community can help identify the culprit.
