Man faces impaired charges after single vehicle collision

On Sunday, Aug. 20, 2017, Midland Police Service received a complaint about a single vehicle collision in the area of Bayshore Drive and William Street. Officers attended the area and located the vehicle on the roadway with severe front end damage.

Officers spoke with the driver and made a roadside screening device demand, which he failed. The driver was arrested for over 80mgs of alcohol and transported to Midland Police Service to provide further breath samples.

The male driver completed the necessary tests and was charged with impaired care and control and over 80mgs of alcohol. The vehicle was seized and impounded for seven days and his licence was suspended for 90 days.

The suspect is to appear in Midland Court of Justice on Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017 at 9:30 a.m.

Over 80 mgs alcohol – Sec 253(1)(b)CCC
