A local man faces several charges following a break-in at a south-end pharmacy last night.

Just after 11 p.m., on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, Barrie police responded to an Essa Road pharmacy after receiving a report of a break-in.

Upon arrival, police say officers located a shattered glass front door and when they entered to search the premises, a 23-year-old male was located and arrested.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, the Barrie man has been charged with several offences which include break and enter and a number of fail-to-comply charges that are specific to conditions associated with a previous probation order and a release order.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing, which is scheduled for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie.
