NEWS RELEASE
SOUTH SIMCOE POLICE
*************************
On Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, just before 10:30 p.m., South Simcoe Police were called to a rural Innisfil home for the report of a domestic incident.
Officers learned that a man and a woman had been involved in a dispute when she grabbed his phone to check his text messages, then assaulted him when he took it back.
While investigating, officers were told that on a December evening, the man awoke to find the woman in his bed, sexually assaulting him.
A 59-year-old Barrie woman has been charged with Domestic Assault and Sexual Assault. She must avoid the victim while awaiting a court date later this month. The man was not injured.
If you, or anyone you know is in an abusive relationship, South Simcoe Police are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
We have volunteers in Victim Services who can help you find alternative housing, give advice, counselling and assist during the court process. You are not alone.
