Four-year-old Keira Kagan (Brown).

An inquest will be held into the death of a girl who was found at the bottom of a cliff in a Milton conservation area, Ontario's chief coroner has announced.

Dr. Dirk Huyer, Chief Coroner for Ontario, said today (Feb. 9) that the inquest will examine the death of Keira Kagan, also known as Keira Brown.

The four-year-old was discovered deceased on Feb. 9, 2020, in Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area.

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Keira’s death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths.

Keira's body was found next to that of her father, whom the family has alleged killed the child in a murder-suicide.

The child's parents had separated in 2016.

Details regarding the date and location of the inquest will be provided at a later date when information becomes available, the Ministry of the Attorney General said in a news release.
