Innisfil man charged with sexual assault, luring a minor

The South Simcoe Police Service has laid numerous charges against a 20-year-old man from Innisfil in relation to a luring and sexual assault investigation.

The investigation revealed the suspect used social media to contact and befriend the victim.

On Tuesday, Nov. 1, the accused was arrested and held for a bail hearing.

Charged is Curtis Gamble, 20, of the Town of Innisfil.

Charges:

  • Sexual assault
  • Sexual interference
  • Invitation to sexual touching
  • Luring a person under 18 years of age by means of telecommunication
  • Transmit, make available, distribute or sell sexually explicit material to a person under 18 years
  • Possessing child pornography
  • Forcible confinement
  • Harassing phone calls
  • Failure to comply with judicial release (four counts)

A sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature. The South Simcoe Police Service would like to encourage anyone who feels they may have been a victim of a sexual assault to come forward and report the incident to police. There is no statute of limitations for sexual offences and offenders can be prosecuted well after the date of the offence.
