Innisfil man charged with impaired after report from concerned citizen

BRADFORD – South Simcoe Police Service officers charged a man with impaired driving and fail to remain after receiving a call from a citizen.

On Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020, around 12:20 a.m., police were called after a citizen witnessed a vehicle striking a guard rail on County Road 27 near Line 2 in Bradford.

Police located the vehicle in the County Road 88 and Highway 400 area and the driver was arrested. He was transported to South Division where breath test readings were above the legal limit of alcohol.  

36-year-old Deakon Mueller of Innisfil was charged with Operation While Impaired, Over 80 and Fail to Remain. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

Thank you to the citizen who reported a suspected impaired driver.  Impaired driving is a crime in progress. If you suspect someone is driving impaired, call 911. Together we can prevent tragedies and make our roads safe for everyone.
