INNISFIL - A 43-year-old Innisfil man is charged with impaired driving and Over 80 following a two-vehicle collision that sent one person to hospital.

On Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018 around 6 p.m., police were called to the area of Willard Ave. and Lebanon Dr. in Innisfil. Once on scene, officers learned that two vehicles had collided while one was reversing out of a driveway.

A pregnant woman who was a passenger in the reversing vehicle was taken to hospital for a medical check. The driver of the second vehicle was placed under arrest for Over 80 after a fail was registered on a breath test.

The man was transported to North Division where further testing resulted in readings of more than double the legal limit of alcohol. The man was charged with Impaired Care or Control and Over 80. He was released with a future court date.

There are so many transportation options available for people but there are still those who insist on making the dangerous choice of driving impaired. Increased vigilance is even more important during the holiday season.

Impaired driving is a crime in progress. Safely call 911 to report suspected impaired drivers. Helps us keep our roads safe and free of tragedies this Christmas.
