House egged, window broken on Black Ash Trail in south end

Police say that it appears a rock was thrown through basement window, causing $600 in damage

Barrie police are investigating after a house was egged and a window was broken in a south-end neighbourhood last night. 

Shortly before 9 p.m., on Thursday, March 9, an officer responded to a reported mischief at a home located on Black Ash Trail, near Ardagh Road and Mapleton Avenue.

When the officer arrived, they discovered the front porch area had been egged and a basement window had been broken "after it appears that a rock was thrown through it," police said in a news release.

Damage to the broken window is estimated at approximately $600.

The investigation is ongoing and the person responsible is not known at this time.
