Grinch damages Glowing Hearts mailbox, removes envelope

The Barrie Police Service is appealing to the public for assistance in identifying a suspect in regards to a mischief and suspected theft that occurred in the City of Barrie.

On Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018, just before 12:30 p.m., Barrie Police attended Glowing Hearts Community Give and Get, which is located at 110 Dunlop Street West, after a male forcibly removed an envelope from a mailbox.

The mailbox was damaged to a point that it can no longer be used and from the attached picture, the suspect appears to have obtained an envelope that contained a Christmas card and Canadian currency.

A search of the downtown area including the bus terminal was conducted by the police however the suspect, who is described as male white, slim build, scruffy facial, hair, black jacket, black hoodie, black pants and a grey hometown hockey scarf could not be located.
