Motor vehicle collision involving pedestrian On Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 9 a.m. police were called to a pedestrian struck at the intersection of Meadowland Avenue and Springhome Road, in the City of Barrie.

On Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 9 a.m. police were called to a pedestrian struck at the intersection of Meadowland Avenue and Springhome Road, in the City of Barrie. A 53-year-old female was transported to Royal Victoria Regional Health Center with non-life threatening head injuries.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Barrie Police Service Traffic Unit and charges are pending completion of the investigation.

Breach of probation/drug charge

On Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 11:20 a.m. police located a 24-year-old female who was wanted on an outstanding warrant for breaching her probation order.  When the female was arrested she was also in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. The charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and breaching another condition from her previous drug related charge was added on.  She was held at the Barrie Police Service for a future bail hearing.

Warrant/breach of probation

On Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 3:15 p.m. police located a 27-year-old male who was wanted on an outstanding warrant for the theft of two rifles and breaching his probation order. The rifles were stolen from a vehicle on Joanne Court at the end of October and the accused is believed to have sold the rifles shortly after the theft. The rifles have since been located and are not a safety concern to the public. The male was held at the Barrie Police Service for a future bail hearing.
