Fight leads to impaired, dangerous driving charges for Bradford man

In another instance over the long weekend, South Simcoe Police charged a driver with impaired after blowing over three times the legal limit of alcohol

INNISFIL - A 44-year-old Bradford man is charged with impaired and dangerous driving after South Simcoe Police Service officers were called to a report of a disturbance in Innisfil.

On Sunday, Aug. 4, 2019 around 1:30 a.m., South Simcoe Police responded to a report of a disturbance at a home in the St. Johns Road and Garden Avenue area.

Once on scene, officers confirmed there was a fight between two men and one of the men subsequently drove his car into the other assailant's parked vehicle. The driver was transported to North Division where breath tests resulted in readings of more than twice the legal limit.

A 44-year-old Bradford man was charged with impaired operation, over 80 and dangerous driving.

His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

There were no injuries.

BRADFORD - A 46-year-old Innisfil man is charged with impaired operation and over 80 following a traffic stop in Bradford.

On Friday, Aug. 2, 2019 around 11:00 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers pulled over a suspended driver on Golfview Boulevard and Simcoe Road.

The driver was arrested after showing signs of impairment and was transported to South Division. Breath tests resulted in readings of over three times the legal limit of alcohol.

The 46-year-old Innisfil man was charged with impaired operation, over 80 and drive under suspension.

His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

Three impaired drivers arrested over the long weekend - one with more than three times the legal limit and another with more than twice the legal limit - is unacceptable. Impaired drivers pose a serious threat to the safety of other motorists and pedestrians.
