Father, son busted with weapons, unauthorized pills in Wasaga Beach

Provincial police say they seized more than $33,000 in cash as well as 10 cellphones, Airsoft rifle, Airsoft handgun, and BB guns

Officers from the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit seized a large quantity of unauthorized prescription drugs, while executing a search warrant on Dec. 8 at a Wasaga Beach residence. 

As a result of the investigation, the following was seized:

  • Codeine
  • Oxycodone
  • Alprazolam
  • Nabilone
  • Cash - $33,260 in Canadian currency
  • Ten cellular phones
  • An Airsoft rifle, Airsoft handgun and two BB guns

In addition to the seizure, both residents of the house, a 55-year-old and a 19-year-old were both charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of a Schedule IV substance for the purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000

Both accused parties are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood in January 2022, to answer to the charges.
