Fatal motorcycle crash being investigated by Barrie police

Police called to crash in the area of Innisfil and John streets around 5 p.m., Wednesday

City police are on the scene of a fatal motorcycle crash in the area of Innisfil and John streets.

Barrie police communications co-ordinator Jennett Mays said the initial call came in around 5 p.m., “but as the investigation is still ongoing, I don’t have any other details to share at this point.”

This is the third motorcycle crash fatality in the region in the last month.

On July 2, Orillia OPP had to close Highway 11 in both directions for a single-vehicle motorcycle collision that left a 32-year-old Holland Landing man dead.

On July 25, a 25-year-old East Gwillimbury man was killed in a two-vehicle collision in downtown Bradford when the motorcycle he was riding collided with another vehicle.

BarrieToday hopes to have more details Thursday.
