SPRINGWATER TWP. – On Feb. 22, 2020 at 9:25 p.m., a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Central Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team stopped a vehicle that was travelling over 50 km/h above the posted speed limit on Horseshoe Valley Road West. The driver was also found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Jake Huygen, 22 years old, of Elmvale, Ontario, was arrested and charged with:
• Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
• Speeding 50+ km/h over speed limit
• Race a motor vehicle - excessive speed
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on March 24, 2020.
