East-end stabbing has police searching for suspect

The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries

Barrie police are searching for the suspect in an east-end stabbing that sent one man to hospital.

Police received a call at 5:03 p.m. Saturday about a 36-year-old man who had been stabbed at the Simcoe Plaza, located at the intersection of Blake and Johnson streets. 

Barrie police communications coordinator Peter Leon told BarrieToday that the victim was “stabbed at the plaza, walked home and was treated at" Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre for non-life threatening injuries.”

Leon also said the “suspect is outstanding with no further details available at this time.”

Investigation is ongoing by Barrie police.
