Drug warrant executed in Orillia

On Wednesday Nov. 15, 2017 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed a warrant at an Albert Street North address in the City of Orillia.

At approximately 7:30 a.m., members of the Orillia and Bracebridge Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Central Region Canine (K9), Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Orillia OPP members, executed a warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) at the Albert Street North address in Orillia.

As a result of the search warrant officers were able to locate a quantity of drugs. Police have charged 56-year-old George Leach and 37-year-old Tiffany Simcoe both from Orillia with:

  • Two counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.
  • Two counts of possession of a schedule I substance contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.
  • Possession of a schedule II substance contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.
  • Possession of a schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drug and Substances Act

Both of the accused have been remanded into custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie for a bail hearing on Friday Nov. 17, 2017.
