Driver suffers life-threatening injuries in Friday collision

Police called to three-vehicle crash on Townline Road near Muirfield Drive just after 7 p.m.

Three people were taken to hospital Friday evening following a serious collision on Townline Road near Muirfield Drive in Barrie's west end. 

Police were called to the three-vehicle crash just after 7 p.m. on Friday, March 10, confirmed Barrie police communications co-ordinator Peter Leon in an email to BarrieToday Saturday morning.

Leon noted one driver sustained life-threatening injuries, while the two other people suffered non-life-threatening as a result of the crash.

“The traffic unit is investigating (and) no further details are available at this time,” Leon added.

The road was closed for approximately six-and-a-half hours and was reopened shortly after midnight.
