INNISFIL - On Nov. 14, 2017 around 11:30 p.m., a South Simcoe Police officer out on general patrol in the area of Highway 89 near the 5th Sideroad of Innisfil noted a vehicle with an expired validation sticker.
The officer stopped the vehicle and confirmed the driver to be the registered owner. The owner openly admitted to the officer the vehicle had no insurance.
As a result he was charged with Owner Operate Motor Vehicle on a Highway - No Insurance and Driver Motor Vehicle No Currently Validated Permit. The accused was left to arrange to have his vehicle towed.
Just 32 minutes later, just after midnight on Wednesday, Nov. 15, the same driver was spotted by the same officer, driving southbound on the 10th Sideroad of Innisfil.
Again the driver was stopped, confirmed to be the owner of the vehicle and was unable to produce valid insurance and validation tag for the same car. The 39-year-old man from Innisfil, if convicted, can be facing up to $15,000 in fines.
