What's left of a car badly damaged in an Anne Street crash Sunday is removed from the ravine where it came to rest.

Charges are pending against the 25-year-old Etobicoke driver of a car which crashed along Anne Street North in Barrie, Sunday morning.

“The car was northbound on Anne Street and struck the curb, tire (a) blew, crossed (the) boulevard, sidewalk, struck a mound, became airborne and came to rest in (a) ravine,” Barrie police communications co-ordinator Peter Leon said in an email to BarrieToday on Monday.

Leon said minor injuries to a 26-year-old passenger were reported.

This investigation is ongoing and being conducted by the Barrie police traffic unit.

The black Dodge Charger crashed and ended up in the ravine, about 30 feet lower than the road, at approximately 6 a.m. on Aug. 20, neighbours said.

Classic Towing removed the badly damaged car from the ravine early Sunday afternoon.
