A Barrie man is facing impaired driving and drug charges after a collision occurred in a parking lot Thursday.
Barrie Police Service responded to the report of a crash in the lot of a Bayfield Street business shortly after 1 p.m.
An officer noticed signs of impairment and arrested the 34-year-old driver. He was taken to Barrie police headquarters, where a drug-recognition evaluator determined he was impaired by drug, police said in a news release.
The man was charged with operation while impaired, as well as possession of cocaine. He was released from custody and has a court date in Barrie in early December.
The man’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle he was driving has been impounded for seven days.
