Citizen's 'erratic driver' report leads to impaired charge: police

Innisfil man, 59, has been charged with impaired driving over 80 and dangerous operation following traffic stop near 6th Line and Yonge St.

INNISFIL - A 59-year-old Innisfil man is facing impaired and dangerous driving charges after a citizen reported an erratic driver.

On Saturday, June 8, 2019 around 5:30 p.m., police were called about a vehicle driving erratically and at a high rate of speed in the 6th Line and Yonge Street area of Innisfil.

A vehicle stop was subsequently conducted and a fail was registered on a roadside screening device. The driver was arrested and transported to North Division where breath tests resulted in readings of twice the legal limit of alcohol. 

A 59-year-old Innisfil man was charged with impaired driving, over 80 and dangerous operation.  His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He was released with a future court date.
